Matthew Clark

Matthew Clark was born and educated in Auckland, completing Medical School at the University of Auckland in 1990. The next ten years included medical experience, surgical training, and a doctorate. Matthew gained his specialist qualification in 2000, then worked as a locum consultant at Middlemore for 18 months. Three years in the UK followed, including two years in a specialist cancer unit, the Royal Marsden Hospital.

Matthew has now been in private practice since 2005.He currently sees patients in Epsom , and is accredited to perform surgery at Mercy Hospital, Southern Cross Brightside, Auckland City Surgical, and Ormiston Hospital.

He consults and operates on a wide range of General Surgical problems, and has specialty interests in melanoma, soft-tissue sarcoma, breast cancer, and rare tumours. ACC referrals for hernia are welcomed.

Matthew is also a Consultant General Surgeon at Middlemore Hospital, where he enjoys his public commitment to elective and acute surgery, and training of students and medical staff at all levels. He has an active role in education and training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
